i need help.. i cant figure out the answer..
For the following questions, does the representive democracy, totalitarian governments, or both have what is being asked?
1. any qualified citizen can run for office
2. citizens can criticize the government and its officials
3. A constitution promises freedom
4. officials can ignore the freedoms promised in the constitution
5. laws must agree with the constitutions
6. leaders belong to different political parties
7. leaders belong only to the ruling political party
8. officials must justify their actions to citizens
9. the government has total control over citizens lives

Also- is the U.S. a free republic AND a representative democracy??

3 - possible both, but totalitarian ignores it
4 - both, but in the representative democracy there is a chance to change the officials, not so in the totalitarian

9 - totalitarian ( the very definition of in fact )
The United States is both a free republic ( in that it's people are not controlled totally by the government ) AND it is a representative democracy ( in that we elect people to represent us in our democratic government )
