Are you sure rabbits are digging? An odd question I know, but I have suffer from rabbits, but they ate my veg instead of digging. (I am assuming here we are talking about british rabbits - the only ones I have observed) Why are they digging? they are lazy little vermin, and unless they are excavating burrows would rather eat than work. In this part of the world the lawns get small holes in, but this is caused by different animals at different times of the year. For example at this time of year foxes, badgers and corvids dig out chafer grubs. At other times jays bury and retrieve acorns. It would be a shame to waste resource on the rabbits only to find that they were innocent (this time;-). Phill

Ive had this problem, and set up a camcorder at my patio doors. To my suprise it wasn't foxes that were doing the damage, it was squirrels. They were burying and retrieving nuts.
Ive bought an electronic device that emits an ultrasonic sound that animals dont like, but doesn't do them any harm, and this has done the trick. They are obtainable from good garden centres, and argos stores, costing around £30

many garden stores and diy outlets sell a product called RENARDINE, smells similar to creosote. it can be painted onto posts etc but is more commonly soaked onto rags which are then put at intervals around the garden. does work, on rabbits and moles too. By the way the person who suggested peeing in the garden is also correct, it does work, but has to be done daily as the scent doesn't worry them if it's old.

Go to the zoo and get some lion/tiger crap and spread it around.

Check your local warehouse store like Home Depot. There are motion detector sprinklers available that hose the little sucker down when he shows up. Here's a link, there are many more:
