This "October Suprise" crap that Hastert is trying to promote is bull. The Democrates are of course taking advantage of this situation for political gains, it's not like the republicans wouldn't do the same. However, there is no conspiracy. Foley is a pervert and the republican party attempted to cover up this mess.

How can Republicans say," Were not blaming Dem's." Then claim they new about this 5 mths. prior and then leaked the info. Hello, the lead reporter at ABC on this story revealed the registerd REPUBLICANS WERE THERE SOURCES, NOT DEMOCRATES WAKE UP!

I am a Republican, I am not blaming the Democrats.

Foley sexually harassed and fraternized with a page. He should be fired, but he resigned. i give him credit there.

The Democrats knew of Foley's actions five months prior. That makes them just as guilty fo letting that guy go five months being harrassed. The Dems wanted to wait for the elections so the sting would have it's affect on the election.

Both parties are being stupid.

Edit -

Hmm...lead reporter says it came from republicans, but yet the Dems still knew. IT CHANGES NOTHING...THEY STILL KNEW...WAKE UP!

I gives a rats @ss who leaked it. Both parties failed to act. That makes the Democrats just as guilty.

Stay in you cozy little bubble of ignorance. The real world does not need your contributions...

I don't get it either. If ABC's source is a republican, the now adult pages are republican, and you have republican organizations that started the talk of Hastert resigning then how is it that this so called "October Surprise" is the Democrats fault. The only "October Surprise" is the the normally politically astute republican party didn't see this snowball of a mess rolling down the hill.

Because they refuse to accept responsibility for anything. They seem to view themselves in a bubble world, where accountability is only applicable to the other side.

Prime example, Hastert said the buck stops here, but I did nothing wrong.

Because Republicans think it's impossible for a Republican to be gay and that only Democrats like Gov. Megreevy of NJ can be gay so foley has to be a closet Democrat that the Democrats planted in the GOP and they now use to bring down the Republican party and win back the Congress.

To divert blame and try to discredit the Dems.
This administration has blamed everything on Clinton from 9/11 to Katrina.
It's a mighty small man that won't take responsibility for his decisions and Bush is that small man. Every error in judgment he makes, it always diverted to ANYONE else. Bush isn't a president, he's a weasel.

I've always been surprised at how many closet gays you find in church and in the so-called moral right.

Vote Democrat, restore democracy and the good name of America.

Vote Republican and get more of the same lies, chicanery and death.

Obviously everyone blames Foley for Foley's behavior, that's why he's resigned. It's when you leap to the conclusion (without evidence) that there was a coverup, that it becomes the blame game. You are playing it too. The Republican leadership knew and did nothing? Well, it's just as likely the Democrat leadership knew and did nothing. Why are these IM's and e-mails showing up years after the fact? Who knew about them and was holding on to them to release just before an election?

It's just kind of cheeky that some democrats who knew about it two years ago didn't say anything about it then. If they were so concerned for a child's right, why not expose it when it came to light instead of waiting for an election?

Republicans blame democrats, thats just what they do. Clinton brought us 8 years of peace and prosperity, and they blame him for Bush's disasterous presidency. Repubs talk so much crap about "family values" and "personal responsibility".. What a joke.

They try to twist the truth.... just like going to war in Iraq because Saddam has WMD and we're fighting the war on terror there when Bin Laden is in Afghanistan or Pakistan.

We are not.We are blaming them for deliberately covering information that would have lead to the earlier dismissal of a potential child predator and the continued endangerment of children for political purposes.
