college students i saw yesterday and these days.. just so outgoing and talkative, i can't relate to them . i'm a shy guy and i never talk.. i don't understand why they can't stop talking. Does this talkativeness start since they are kids. I was always shy since i was 5, but if you're not like that, do you generally end up as talkative as these people i've described. I'm 26 and i'm not at all like any of these college americans, and ...all these college americans seem to be the same. All the ones i see, kind of have that Spring Break attitude you see in tv

No, they are not all like that. I was shy as a child, shy in college, and not quite so shy as an adult.

What tends to happen is that the loud children are encouraged and the quiet ones become more quiet. Especially among American men it seems being loud and boisterous is encouraged.

I'm older than college age so things may have changed but when I went to college about half of the male students were loud and obnoxious but the other half were not. You'll always be noticing the loud ones because they draw attention to themselves. The regular men just always went about their business without all the attention-seeking behavior.

They have been taught that they are each the center of the Universe. Yes they do all seem alike. There is not a healthy cultural climate in America these days.
