Peter Shilton holds the record for the most English caps. He has 125 caps, he gained his first cap against East Germany in November 1970. England won 3-1.
In a 30-year career which took in eight clubs, three World Cups, two European Cup finals and more than 1,000 competitive matches, Shilton emerged as one of the English game's genuine legends. Interestingly, Shilton did not make his World Cup tournament debut until the age of 32 but he played in 17 finals matches and kept a record clean sheets in 10 of them.
He is best remembered for his time at Nottingham Forest, where he won 2 European Cups, the First Division championship, the League Cup and many other honours. He is considered one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time.
Rachel Yankey is the women with the most caps. She has 63 and she has scored 9 goals.

Peter Shilton won 125 caps between 1970 and 1990, which at the time was the world record for any international player. It may well have been more had Shilton not had to share the goalkeeper's jersey with Ray Clemence for much of the 1970s.

I dont know how but it's Peter Shilton, the last 50 0r so caps were not the best, i think he finished with about 125,
