Which monitors have the best colour gamut?

Have LCDs caught up with CRTs? Are there particular models with especially good colour ranges? Is this limited by video card anyway?

Nope. CRTs unless you're going for plasma screens. A good video card helps a lot but ultimately limited by the physical constraints of LCD. A moderate range 19 inch LCD should be good enough.

CRT still have better contrast and depth and resolution but just bulky.
