Compare (in other words, similarities)>All are, in effect, elements. In all likely hood in light of this question the same element.
Contrast (in other words, differences)>All have different numbers of parts. The ion is missing (or has gained) electron(s), the atom has all commonly found parts (p,n. and e) as found from the information on the Periodic Table. Isotopes have differing numbers of neutrons.
The above answer has nice definitions, however your teacher may really want similarities and differences.
