my friends have been beaten up in gaybars lately for nothing by lesbians and by gay men and then taking no repsonsibilty for their violent actions by saying they take too many es and dont know what they are doing.is this a national trend or just leeds?

I used to live in Leeds for Uni and found that the lesbians were always very butch and aggressive. The new penny was where they accumulated and I found that they always got aggro with each other. There was never so much trouble in the gay male bars however.
In London, where I live now, the level of violence in bars has dropped considerably. This is probably something to do with an increased sense of 'community' with the bar and club owners working together to spot and remove violent elements from the area.
In terms of drug use, Ecstacy generally makes people more placid and less violent so I am surprised that that is stated as a reason.
So I can tell you that it is not a national trend and might just be something happening locally to yourself, or maybe you were just unlucky a few times and got caught up in it!

It must just be Leeds love, the worst I've seen in Glasgow's gay pubs are some very vicious sharp looks!
