I worked at a jewelry manufacturing place. They only made high end jewelry and the owner says you need only to use Dawn dish detergent and an old toothbrush to clean anything.

You don't have to pay any money at all to get your rings just as sparkly as the day you got them. All you have to do is take an old toothbrush, dip it in ammonia and clean your rings thoroughly, then do the same thing again only with toothpaste, you won't believe how clean and shiny it'll be. We've been doing this for years and the only time we need to take our jewelry to the jeweler, is when they need restraightening or to be repaired.

Take it to a jewelry store. They usually do free cleanings.
