I think it is discrimination , the government has a long history of propaganda and misinformation regarding marijuana use . In recent studies the THC in marijuana has been found to prevent the plaque in the brain which is the root cause of Alzheimer’s disease , the best available drug now on the market only has a 20% success rate for prevention of this plaque while the THC has proven to be 100% effective at this . I think the government needs to completely legalize it in order to concentrate on crime and stop wasting their time. We all know it's relatively harmless even compared to cigarettes . It may have some health risks but what doesn't and it certainly is not as dangerous as alcohol by any stretch . It also maddens me that they confiscate homes , cars and possessions of those who smoke without proof of these things being obtained by illegal sales of marijuana . That’s become a political boost to politicians to line there pockets with free money and I don't think we'll soon seen them burning the confiscated money as they on occasion burn the herb which is only done for show on occasion anyways. We know they resell it and bust people for the same stuff all down the line to boost there profits . Who are the real criminals here? The government officials of course , I've never seen the disclosure list of what is done with the confiscated money and profits from the homes and autos they sell at auction, where does that go ? I know the herb is most often released back into the community as many officers smoke it thereselve's because I've personally witnessed this on many occasions firsthand . Perhaps it boils down to a loss of money and revenue on the local levels that is most likely preventing full legalization . If it were legalized local communities would then have to share revenue from it with the feds so I feel that is one hindrance to it becoming legal . As an example several years ago in Dade county Florida customs office 33 tons of marijuana disappeared with no sign of forced entry ! How sweet it is the cops can have their cake and eat it too. I'm tired of it that's for sure . In 1975 I could buy a whole pound of gold in southern California for 90 bucks can you believe it ? Now you could only get a half ounce for that if you were lucky .

OK now I'll tell you this only once, then you'll get high again and forget this, so print it out.
Marijuana has a chemical composition that affects the responses of the brain. it is a drug like alcohol, except it has been found that the effects of MJ are more harsh and can cause cell damage faster than Alcohol. tobacco on the other hand has lobbyists in DC who pay lots of money to keep their leafy substance legal. MJ needs the same type of rich lobbyists to push the issue. But if it were ever legal it would be regulated out the yingyang, as to make sure it is distributed like Beer or other items which you must be 21 to buy....OK--- now go toke one for the good times and yes you need a hit now, so your girlfriend looks good :-)

Regardless of any "official reasons" you may find on government sites, it basically boils down to two things: 1) Weed is easier to grow and produce, making more difficult for the government to get their " cut" -- Alcohol, tobacco and gas are taxed twice. 2) There are plenty of congressmen and such who believe that they know what's best, usually based in their "religious convictions." Many times you hear how Republicans want to defer more to states rights and have less big government, yet a few years back when John Ashcroft was Attorney General, he confiscated medical marijuanaa from a hospital that cared for terminally ill patients. The use of this marijuan, had passed by a large percentage based upon votes of the state ---states rights in action -- yet, it was still confiscated.

Sorry about the "lecture." It seems I gave more than you may have asked for.

Governments get lot's of Tax money from cigerettes and alchohol. If they could get as much money from dope you can be sure they would legalise it.
