Do freedom of expression and freedom of press exist in Russia? I heard in the news that , the prominent journalist who was killed opposed the war in Chenya and opposed Putin. Why do you think Putin's name was mentioned?
Another question who are the most influential people in Russia?

It means Putin reigns. You can bet no one will ever be found guilty. In the history of Russia you cannot attack government policy with impunity. It does not matter what form of government.

Journalists who expose dirty little secrets are always at risk because of their work. Freedom of expression will not help them when they have information on criminal organizations or government misdeeds. Putin is probably capable of being a very dangeous individual if the is threatened since he does have a background in the KGB. Given the amount of criminal activity in Russia at this time anything is possible.

My parents said she was in someone's way, they didn't like her. She used to go to many a hot spot and she mauled russian soldiers and russian government. She was of course paid by someone who needed such propaganda. She was not right, and she knew she was used for spreading lies. Our cousin was in Chechnya, and we know how it is up there.
Well maybe someone from the government was behind the murder, who knows.
There are lots of influential people in russia.
