I was hurt while I was in high school I would like to work, I need something to do, Help!

States vary on their rules for this. If you are on SSI, I dont think you can work. If you were on SSD you can. Call your local social security office, they can help you.

Hi Carrie I am Mark , my personal experience with SSD is a difficult and daily struggle, Any Income from work can have an effect on SSD reporting your income by check stubs is good. And SSI offers assistance for people going back to work and are a temporary increase during a trial period. I recommend employment services from EDD. I also recommend temporary job services to gain a recent employment History. SSD & SSI allows 30 hours per week and more hour is give a 9 month evauation, where work income is caculated. In this process a worker can be determined to no longer have a work disability. then ssa allows medicare coverage and some benifits about 9 to 18 months more. If needed. The bigesst problem for me is keeping a job I worry alot about the future health care necessary For my abilty to work. Im seeking a trustworthy heatlh plan and may have share of cost insurance whith Medical. I believe and group health plan is soon availible to me at my present job. I really had dificulty getting work references, and job skills. I recomend a job coach or EDD to get approval for part-time work in your area. Good luck and keep trying , dont get to busy to soon I burned out on some jobs and lost the job. Teporary Job Services placed me at my recent job.
