the internet comes up with The Viking Loom on high petergate, but I also remember a sewing type shop at the bottom end of Parliament St, on the same street as Russels and Jessops, Duttons for Buttons ?! if it's still there.

I get all mine from ebay - provided you choose carefully they are so much cheaper

there is one on gillygate but i'm afraid i don't know the name of it, it has crafts in the title i think! good luck
