I guess because it falls in softly in the right spot. If you dunk a donut too hard or in the wrong spot you spill your coffee, a dunker in baseball has to be in the right spot or its just an easy out. Could be wrong but thats a guess. Those type of hits used to be called a Texas leaguer, I have no idea whatsoever why, I have not heard that term since the 60's or 70's. I'm guessing you watched the Mets game last night!!!!
