Nah, it's all down to the general unexpected and the specific unexpected.

You can expect the general unexpected, simply by approaching life with the attitude that "weird unexpected stuff will happen". then, when weird stuff happens, you can say "see - told ya - weird stuff happens".

It's pretty much impossible to expect the specific unexpected, or as you say, it becomes the expected. If you were to walk out of your house saying "I expect a 14th century monk on a unicycle to come and slap me in the face with a herring", and then he did, then apart from being utterly weird, it would have been expected and you'd be very very clever and possibly barking mad.

If though you went out thinking "something weird will probably happen today", and then your monk wheeled along and whacked ya, you'd both have expected it in general terms, and not expected it in specific terms - you'd have expected the unexpected, and been right, but still, the unexpected would have whacked you upside the head with a fish, which you weren't expecting...

Essentially it's the same as saying "it'll rain today" and putting on your coat without knowing exactly how hard or how much it'll rain. :o)

I expect it does, although it does border on the realm of psychic powers. I suppose that`s only to be expected though?
How do you know what the unexpected is though?
If you are not expecting something then everything falls into that category. Maybe something is only unexpected up until the point it arrives? Once the unexpected arrives though it is no longer unexpected or expected. What is it then?

I was going to say yes I agree, but then I got the unexpected view of your great body, and I did not expect that, so now I'm all confused, Expected/Unexpected, what does it matter, I got what I wanted, and that's all that matters, Have you got a bigger pic??.

Yes, And it would make it expected, if you knew what it was you were expecting! But, It is hard telling, Not knowing. So, never underestimate the unexpected!

Our Human nature is to expect outcomes of present and "future" situations to be similiar to those experiences gained from similiar situations of the past, or of what someone else's experiences have been. The trick here is to not judge what our new experience will be based on what has happened before so that we can experience life in a new way.

sure its possible, cause anythin can happen. but the unexpected doesnt happen so often so dont place all yr hopes there! on the other hand hope is a helpful feeling and if u expect or ask nothin, u usually get nothin.

when you expect the unexpected it becomes expect...so what you dont expect to be the unexpect actually happens making it the expected that noone thought would happen...making it the unexpected :)

That relies upon what you propose through 'unpredicted'. that's no longer conceivable to assume a particular aspect to ensue and yet have it unpredicted. notwithstanding, that's conceivable to assume that some non-particular aspect will ensue and that the particular aspect will be unpredicted. Does that count number? also, why is this question contained in the religion class?
