I vaguely remember that when I moved into mine, the current suppliers just sent me an introductory letter.

You can choose your own suppliers. (www.uswitch.com) is good for comparing.
The builders or current owners are the best to tell you who sends the bills just now.

see the last last pending bills to the new property and it will give you a clue as to how much you would have to pay before you move in there so your better staying where you are.do you have friendly neighbours just ask them or 1st make friends with them and make it easy to get to know where your goin to from where you are.they will up date you on your bills then.
good luck in your new home
switch off what ever your not using to so you will save up on your bills.

most suppliers are British Gas and you can call them, give your address and they will tell you if you are their customer or any other company, I used to work for British Gas in Manchester,
