I need an exact answer, and a source.

Its density is 2.67-2.78. You can not have an exact answer because depending on the source it may have somewhat different components. If you want a single value and not a range you will have to probably specifiy the mine or region.

Since emerald is but one of many forms of the beryl gem, it will only have an average density, but I did find a site that lists this, along with other physical properties:
Density: 2.63 - 2.9, Average = 2.76
Empirical formula for beryl: Be3Al2Si6O18
Emerald is the green form of beryl
(makes sense the mineral should be called "beryl" as the first atom is beryllium!)

density is equal to mass divided by volume.
