if so how do you green it up. watering doesn't seem to help. thanks.

You're probably talking about Zoysia. It is desirable because it's tough as nails. It's undesirable because it's the last grass to green up in the spring and the first to brown out in the fall. I've had customers whose lawn was only green 3 or 4 out of 12 months. That's just the nature of zoysia. You can try fert or Ironite like the previous person said but I doubt it will make a difference.

Zoysia grass is slow to recover and green up.Most of the time when its yellow it needs Ironite.That should start to green it up in a couple of weeks.
