Women should only ever wear the veils if their husbands agree to wear them too. They restrict your sight, that loose fabric can be dangerous, they're hot and uncomfortable. There's something wrong with you psychologically if you are so afraid of people seeing your face that you need to hide behind cloth.
It's not required by the Koran. As a Western woman, I find it offensive to see a woman in such garb. It's against everything that women have fought for over the years - equality and education, equal pay, the rights to live as an equal.
And for those people who say "look at how Western women dress" - that is their choice! I don't agree with it, but I agree with their right to do so! I wish they were more modest, but it still doesn't excuse those women who think the only alternative is to dress with a sack over their head. We can all dress modestly, without stooping to such levels.
As for Jon Prescott - well, he would say that, woulnd't he?

i dont see the problem with people wearing them outside of uniformed areas like in there own time but i find it extemely differcult to "ok" that girls in school where uniform is so badly needed to create a "we are all people and i am no different from any other child here" sort of attitude should be allowed to make themselves different like this i was never allowed to wear rosary beads at school i went to "normal" government ruled school where there were lots of different religions and no one was allowed to wear something that wasnt uniform as this creates differences this is why a uniform was created in the first place

When a woman goes to the middle east they are forced to adhere with their dress code and cover up. Therefore, when in Rome and all that - immigrants should come over here and fit in with us.

And if it's not too much bother please try and learn our language too.
