"Come, little leaves," said the wind one day,
Come o'er the meadows with me and play.
Put on your dresses of red and gold -
For summer is gone and the days grow cold."

THIS IS MY FAVORITE MONTH! YES I AM YELLING! I FREAKIN LOVE OCTOBER!!!.

It rained today and I felt this happiness I don't experience in any of the other months...except March perhaps. It is cloudy and about 68 degrees and it just feels like everything is clean and quiet and beautiful for a change.

I love that little poem - elementary school? That kid's a bloody genius! Anyway, to get back to the question. Yes, the changing season's effect me significantly. I think I have s.a.d. (seasonal affective disorder) because lack of sunlight always gets me down. I hate working in the winter because when I leave work it's pitch black outside. A nurse where I work suffers from the same thing and recommended I get a full-spectrum light for the winter to combat this. I also find taking a vitamin D supplement helps, but I guess taking a trip to somewhere sunnier, like say, Hawaii, would be the ideal solution if I could afford it!

That's a beautiful poem. Sound like an amazing child with a wonderful imagination.

I don't let the changing season alter my attitude. I alter my attitude to go with the changing season. I make myself find the beauty in all four. There's a poem that I think the first line is, "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change." I live in Canada, where our seasons are very different and sometimes extreme. The weather will change, with or without my permission. I may as well go with it and be happy with what I get, cause it's not a gift that I can return. As long as the seasons change, I know I'm alive.

Cute little poem; where did you get it?

Yes, the seasons alter my mood quite a bit. For one thing, I have what I call "creaky joint symptom," because I do not say the A word. That is different in the cold and the damp. I live in central California, so it's rain we get, and only rarely snow, but winters seem so very long to me. Also in the summer and early fall when it's very, very hot, I sweat and feel like nothing is worth the effort of doing. I drink iced tea endlessly and have a tendency to fall into self-pity over 90 F.

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that is tied to seasons of the year. Most people with SAD are depressed only during the late fall and winter (sometimes called the "winter blues") and not during the spring or summer. A small number, however, are depressed only during the late spring and summer.

I dont have this disorder but when I live in SC my friends father-in-law did. It was horrible because he has it BAD. Its amazing how this can happen.

When I feel fall in the air, it does change my attitude. Something about the cool crisp freshness of the air is exhilirating. It makes me want to go to football games and build bonfires and roast weiners. The leaves turning their colors is breathtaking. My sweetie used to call the coolness "snoogling weather". Summer gets so hot and depressing, you can't take off enough clothes to get cool, but ah... fall!!! you just layer the clothes on till you get the warmth just right. My mouth starts watering for the turkey and stuffing and pumpkin pie that I know I'm gonna be having just around the corner!!

Definitely. Changing seasons reminds of new life. I feel my life always begins with autumn season. I love the hues of sunlight in the morning and late afternoon. Winter is my period of emptying to receive another great moments of spring and summer time. My attitude goes with the change of season.

Yes, I am more happy during Spring and Summer when I step outside and feel the warmth of the sun. I enjoy swimming, fishing, boating, and yard work - all require pleasant weather which have an abundant of in Florida.

That is great writing for an elementary student. Few of them know how to shorten the word over.
