I have a high powered HP Destop computer with Duo Core processor and i also have a emachine that has a celleron and it works better. So yes they are a good computer

I have gone through many brands of computers.
HP: 8 months
Compaq: 4 months
Emachines: 4 years, with occasional upgrades to memory
they are known as a throwaway system, because it's cheaper to replace it than fix it...... I never had issues with fixing it, as it withstood the database prossessing I was torturing it with...adn 24/7 online usage.

i have had emachines E3010 for about 9 months and i have never had any major problems with it i find there online linnk to customer services pretty handy if you need them it saves money on the phone bill and i am told that they are helpful and know what they are talking about unlike other manufacturers

My emahine is 5 years old and it works perfect.I added more ram and upgraded the video card twice.

Ive only heard by word of mouth, that they are crappy. But I dont know anyone who has one. You should look into consumer reports and see what they say. They'll be non-biased.
