working on the premis that it costs about 80p per mile, then deduct 10% off for negoitiating so the sum of the calculation is 175x80= 140.00 less 10% =£126.00, this is based on a cabbie charging at the normal inner city rate after the first mile, depandant on the company. you may be able to barter it down to a hundred if the driver is not that busy. Look through the Yellow Pages and speak to a couple of taxi firms to get a quote. A lot of taxi firms will switch off the meter and have a fixed price for the regular airport runs they do. If it's not a regular run, they will still negotiate a fixed price if you ask them.

ouch!, I'd stick with coach or train for that sort of distance. Train is easy from Manchester to Glasgow, if you have several hundred pounds to spare, then by all means go by taxi, but it will be extremely expensive.

Someone acctually did that, don't even ask that one, £421.

They did it in reverse, but I could not beleive it when the taxi driver stated the cost.

you will get a better answer by calling your local cab office otherwise it difficult to tell without knowing your exact location.
