I have a sort of aching feeling in my vagina, sorry to be graphic! but it feels the way it would if you've had kinda rough sex, I guess. Also I've been experiencing Braxton Hicks I guess they would be, since about week 18-19 or so. And for the past couple of weeks they've been about 10-15 per day, just lasting about 30 seconds or so. No cramping or spotting, or anything else weird going on. And he's moving like crazy in there. Is this normal. I will ask the doc it's just that it's Sunday, and I have my next appt. thisa week. Thanks! 1st pregnancy!!!!!!

Had the same thing in two of three pregnancies... I never knew for sure what caused that pain but now I wonder if it was the effacement of the uteras? The beginning of the dilation, I mean. I had the false labor alot, just as you described. Of course, tell your doctor for reassurance but I don't think that there is anything wrong - normal "getting ready" pain.
Hope and pray that all will go great for you and your baby!

Is the pain more like pressure? Or is it just sore? Does it get more intense with contractions? Are the contractions regular or do they go away when you change what you are doing?

Lots of pressure especially with contractions - call the doctors answering service. Just sore - you probably were on your feet too much or just tried to do too much, this would bring on contractions too. When the contractions come on and won't stop, drink 3 glasses of water, eat a small snack high in protein like nuts or peanut butter and change positions. Try laying on your left side. Wait one hour and monitor your contractions. If you are have more than 3 an hour you need to go to the hospital and be put on a monitor. Hopefully they would be able to stop the contractions before you start to dilate. Preterm contractions (not braxton-hicks but for real ones) get a shot and a 24 hour observations, pre-term labor (with dilation) get Magnesium sulfate over 48 hours, a steroid to help develop baby's lungs and at least a 72 hour visit. Magnesium sulfate is horrible stuff so hopefully you will never have to go through that.

You are probably just having Braxton Hicks but just wanted to share what to look for because while a 28 weeker could survive, until 32 weeks there is a high risk of hemorrhaging in babies so you should be really cautious until then.

Also go straight to the doctor if you have...
any spotting
a change in discharge, odor, color, thickness
any cramping
a lower back ache
a trickle of fluid (might feel like you are leaking pee)
and of course a gush of fluid

Good luck!

well, the baby is getting pretty big now, so you'll be alot more uncomfortable than you were a month ago. and especially since this is your 1st, then your body is not used to all the pressure.
don't worry about the braxton hicks, they'll only help you when you do go into labor. and if there's no actual cramping or spotting, then i would think that all is well. just be sure to let your dr know at your next appointment, so he can check you out, but i'm sure that everything's fine.

Hmm those braxton hicks are a pain (litterally) I used to get mine at around the same time as you are - problem for me was it was usually when I was walking around out in public and you would have to stand there and wait for them to go away while trying not to look like you were in pain (at least thats what I did LOL) the achine feeling in your vagina is what I would feel so Im guessing it is normal.

i'm 28 weeks and that i'm getting like that at random cases in the process the day. The nausea and the nice and cozy flashes kick in. it is been happening on account that around 22 weeks. i'm unsure concerning the spitting and eating lots of water section, yet i think of all of us have our very own way of coping. I only assume on account that i did not have morning disease i'm unable to ***** too lots approximately this problem.

sharp shooting pains down thru the vagina, can indicate a bladder infection and because the bladder lies next to the uterus if it is irritated it can cause increased braxton hicks. you should call your doctor in the morning and let him/her know your symptoms. In the meantime increase your fluid intake water, water and more water. NO SODAS, they dehydrate you and can make bladder infections worse.

Yeah it's pretty normal, you have to expect wierd things when you're pregnant because you're sharing your body with someone else. Unless you have regular contractions or start having discharge I would think you'll be alright. Just try to take it easy and put your feet up and rest a lot! Good luck to you and your baby.

You should be able to call the office and access the answering service, who would pass your questions on to your doctor. I would try that to get an official answer.
