Try Minions of Mirth - they have a demo version where you play the first 20 levels for free and from what I hear gameplay is similar to Runescape. If you decide to sign up it will cost you a one time fee of $30 - no monthly fees. The only problem is that you'll have to download it although I think they were working on putting the game on CD for folks who prefer to go that route. Check it out: http://www.prairiegames.com/
