I think women ask this more then men do-I asked my husband because I was looking for a good provider to have a family with.
And before you call me a gold digger-we ain't rich,but it is nice to know if a man could pay the bills while you are busy with birthing babies and all that that entails.
however let me add-if she wants exact dollar amouts she probably wants you for your money-and you cannot buy love

It has happened. Not a good sign, I later learned. As a woman this signals the presence of either a greedy person, or a deadbeat. It is enough for them to know that you are self sustaining.
