My girlfriend and I have to costume as the opposite sex.

I have chosen to go as Cinderella and she as the Prince.

My question is how difficult will it be to move around dressed as Cinderella in a big gown as well as sitting down?

Also should I curtsy?

Don't be silly...If the things that you are talking of are worrying you, simply do a rehearsal. If it is possible to get the costume ahead of time, and it would be advantageous because the fit is also important, try it on and move around. Try sitting, walking, dancing, even that possible restroom visit,...and of course that wretched curtsy. Whatever you think will make you feel comfortable while wearing such a costume is what you must consider, or you'll only feel foolish and worse yet you'll look ridiculous.

Hope you have a great time ...and remember the bewitching hour...LOL =)

Perhaps choose a dress that doesn't have a large hoop inside it, you will have no problems sitting down without one.

As for the curtsy, go with what you feel.

Petticoats, corset and heels will really slow you down. Suggest you practice while dressed earlier that week.

You would have to curtsy to males and older females.
