No. Based on your description you have what's referred to as iamanidiot disease. Characteristics include asking stupid questions you already know the answer to on Yahoo Answers.

Iron deficiency Anemia does not cause bruises. Excessive bruises can be a sign of nonfunctional platelets or low platelet count. Aspirin can prevent the platelets from working so taking too much aspirin can cause this. There are other drugs that can affect the platelets and sometimes an autoimmune disorder can also cause problems with the platelets. Some "blood thinner' medications like Warfarin/coumadin can cause bruising and bleeding, Liver problems and Vitamin K deficiency can also cause bruising and bleeding problems.
The best way to determine what is causing this problem is for you to go to the doctor right away. It is true that it could be nothing, but go get this checked out anyway. Do this for you and your two young children.

I have anemia and didnt even realise it until I went for a check up at the doc's, I was getting headaches, feeling tired all the time, dizzy, bruising easily and couldnt concentrate on work. My best advice is go to the doctors and explain how your feeling and tell them what you think.

They might do a FBC (full blood count) and a FER (Iron Count) from a blood test as well as about 6 other blood tests (well they did for me). You wont know until you go to your docs but dont worry about it, just go to your docs and see what they have to say.

Sue's list is very comprehensive and correct, Anaemia is a well known condition with many well documented symptoms, easily confirmed and treated. You would think that it would be quickly spotted and investigated by the meds. This was not my personal experience and I got into a very poor state indeed before my mystery ailment was diagnosed.. I guess combinations of symptoms vary, but if your GP does not suggest it to you as a possibility, then suggest it to him.

Press the top of your finger nail with the tip of another finger nail. It should go white below the pressed nail. If all is ok the blood should immediately rush back after you stop pressing. But best to play safe & see a Doctor.

If you have any of the following;
tiredness and palpitations.
shortness of breath and dizziness.
headache and leg pains.
poor memory,
weakness,
fatigue,
lack of energy,
slow healing of wounds,
headaches,
mental depression,
pale fingers, lips and ear lobes.

Then you probably have, you will need to have a blood test to determine whether you have it or not though, and will probably be put on a course of iron tablets which aren't the nicest things in the world.

I know this isn't much help but you should really go to your Doctor. At least call a nurse to see what they say. Good luck!

If you take aspirin stop, have your blood check and start taking vitamins, and stay away from alcohol and smoking, good luck

hi ,

I think you should go and see your doctor immediately .
Nobody can and should make a distance diagnosis . To get a clear diagnosis you should go to your doc.

I wish you all the best.
Don't panic until you have seen your doctor. :-)

Take care,

J.Z
