I was worried then he called...Again I didnt hear anything for a couple days and I texted and told him it was inconsiderate. He texted back..then dont call again. Clue #1: he only seen you once every other month.
Clue #2: he left the continent and didn't tell you.
Clue #3: he told you not to call him.
Clue #4: he changed his number and didn't tell you.
What those clues all add up to is you were a temporary body for him to USE and that's it.
Move on hopefully wiser.

You should let it go as he has obviously moved on. You might consider the fact that you were being used and there was never any hope for anything more than the occasional physical relations with him anyway...it's likely that you were just another stop in another port...Beware of Geographical Bachelors. Your Self-Respect and dignity should be worth more to you than any communication with a man who obviously thinks so little of you.
My advice to you would be to sever all ties with him and move forward with your life. Fare Thee Well

You get your self remote from this stupid difficulty. at first he's cheating and embarrased to be seen with you in public. Secondly he's 8 hours away and that's an prolonged distance romance. Why could you prefer to be with a cheater who's ashamed of being seen with you?

It sounds like he's married. Don't bother with him. There are many other "available" people for you; just look in the right places. You're going to hurt for a while and then your emotions will go to anger and confusion. Try to stay busy with family and friends and whatever you do--don't beat yourself up! I think this guy is using you...especially since he responded to you that way and changed his number. He's basically saying that it's on his terms and your needs and feelings just don't matter. It's time to move on. He sounds like a jerk.
