You have two options. You can use a visual tool like nvu (http://www.nvu.com/ my recommended free WYSIWYG editor). Alternatively, you can learn (x)html and css, which isn't so hard to do nowerdays, there are some fairly easy tutorials if you're willing to put in the time:

Microsoft FrontPage is probably the easiest for beginners. If you can get hold of this software, you can make up some simple pages first and add on content or more pages later on. It also has some standard scripts and web components that are simple to insert into the pages. Uploading is easy and practically automatic. However, if you upload your pages to the server through FrontPage, you'll always have to do it through FrontPage, and using another FTP probably won't work. If you get stuck, there is a tutorial in FrontPage you can refer to.

Ask around and try to get a gmail email account - going a website on there is dead easy. But you can only do links to other pages, websites and email. Add text and add pictures and that's about it. But you get 100 Mb of space - so you can do a good site! If your ISP gave you some space - they usually do - ask how to activate it and use it. their technical people will give you that info. i have 15Mb of space from my ISP. look at the site I've done with it - if you want something like that. My email address is at the bottom of each page - email me and I'll help you get started. If you see any interesting adverts - click on them - I need the data!

Most ISP's also offer free webspace and easy to follow guidelines - I agree with above that Frontpage is an easy editor to use but it's not the best and also try to steer clear of their templates coz they are not that great. Yahoo Geocities is also easy to use... and free.
Give the magazine .net a try too

Since you are on a Yahoo site now, you might want to try geocities. It has a free site with really easy WYSIWYG page building software.

Most web hosting companies have website builder software so you don't have to go the long way around. Try 1and1 hosting
