Nobody Does. The Yankees have at least a $200 million pay roll. He can spend twice as much more than at least 25 other major league baseball teams can. He has more resources available to him than anybody else.

George thinks he can buy the World Series trophy. And then he has enough gall to say to the media that his team was a sad failure and that there would be changes. He is the sad failure. Too bad we can't get rid of him!!

yes he and the Yankees deserve to lose . yes i agree with you i think Major league baseball should put a stop to all this spending making players salaries go Sky high where no other team could afford them . if the Yankees trade A rod who could or want to pay his salary no one stenbreiner will have to pay most of it .i think every team should be own the same level when it come to pay roll .only then will you see who the better teams are according to thier talent you can't say well the yankees pay roll is 200. millions their win the world series . not going to happen any more

I'm not sure. He's doing everything he can to make the team win, and crowds are filling Yankee Stadium like never before.
I think that the guy that deserves to lose the most is Peter Angelos, owner of the Baltimore Orioles. And he's doing it. He has turned a once successful franchise into a poor team that has had 9 consecutive losing seasons.

There is nothing more sweet than to watch, a low payroll team such as the Tigers, totally humiliate the 200 million dollar, over paid losers. I would love to have been a fly on the wall when the Yankees lost last night and to see the look and reaction on King George's face!!!!!

the Yankees aren't cheating.what should he do NOT spend the money and try to win.if he was making tons of money as the owner and not spending and the team still lost the fans would be pissed.the combo of players is off.club house needs a shake up.but other wise i`ll always be a fan of the Yankees and George Stienbrenner.

If part of your pep talk is about how much the club spends on salaries, it's time for them to take a fall.

Like in the commercial, your team lost, but you can still root against the Yankees.

The Boss deserves to lose every post-season. His arrogant spending practices for guys that no one else can afford would ruin baseball if it weren't for teams like the 06 Tigers, 05 Angels, 04 Red Sox, 03 Marlins, 02 Angels, and 01 Diamondbacks. They made baseball better again . . .

Ther is ALOT of luck involved with winning the WS. Money does not guarantee championships, but it almost guarantees that the team will be competitive and will make it to the playoffs. That's all I expect from the richest team in baseball. Hopefully they will spend money on pitching next year.

Yes. The tightwad owners who refuse to spend the jack to get quality players or keep the players they have. Nobody in the game wants to win more than Steinbrenner and he's not afraid to do whatever it takes to win. And no, I'm not a Yankee fan. I was just as glad to see them lose as you were. But there are other owners who could spend as much as George, but refuse to do so.

Yeah. There is. ALL THE OTHER TEAMS(ESPECIALLY THE RED SOX!) The Yankees are the best team in the MLB. Just because they're good everybody hates them.
