I have talked to a law firm that says it is best to travel, take pictures for immigration, and than apply, it takes 200 days to have the proper visa for my soon to be wife from china. She wants to marry in China. I do not know her that well. Are there any legal problems in getting married to her there? What if we change our mind after we have lived together and are not married in the USA.

Im Chinese myself, but let me give you some advice..you say you don't know her that well, but you want to marry her....o..k...that does not sound good...Give the relationship time cuz what you're saying does not sound like love...you cannot meet and greet, want to marry, and know very little about the woman...What if she was a hooker, or something else? Be careful, don't judge a book by its cover. I do not mean any harm, but most of the time Chinese will marry to get the the U.S. Check her out first, and take her to the trails of love to see if she loveS you, or just want to get that damn green card...You will need to know her at least a year and have photos of you two together, proof that you been over there(Such as plane ticket stubs) and letters that she's written you, if any....Thats your best bet, give it time, and don't let her looks fool you, ask her why does she love you everyday and see how long it takes her to respond, also see if she changes her answers often...then you'll know if she's real...OR FAKE

I'd say talk to a US lawyer about the implications.

does the US recognize a Chinese Marrage. If so, how much can she take you for if you divorce. Can he draw up a prenup and will it be legal in China and enforceable here?

You have a lot to loose on marrying someone you don't know. find out how to limit your losses.

oh, she is from a wealthy family, really? or is it a big show? protect yourself.

You're better off finding a Chinese woman who has already immigrated to the USA.
And if you really feel inclined to marry a Chinese woman, why don't you just go live in China for the rest of your life?
