Its called the " wind blows policy". See, ALL politicans believe that you look at the polls and go the direction the " wind blows". If the majority of voters are anti gay, you become anti gay. If they are pro choice, you become pro choice.
This is what killed 54,000+ Americans during Viet Nam. We had a President and Congress who ran the country based on polls. When they were negative, we stopped the bombing of Hanoi. When things imporved, we bombed.
There are a large group of Conservative Democrats out there that are anti gay and dont mind saying it. Just because they are democrat, they shouldnt be attacking the repubs, because they are republicans. Why cant our Elected Officals forget party lines and do what is right for America??? Because the party is the center of their universe and depending on your party, you blindly follow it. Look at ole Liberman. He opened his eyes and became more conservative in his views and HIS PARTY, to include his running mate for President, turned their backs on him.
You need to take the time to understand the difference between liberal and conservative before you begin name calling. You see, there are both types in both parties.
I am a conservative Democrat just like JFK was. I believe that you dont spend more than a government takes in, you dont prop people up on welfare for multiple generations, and that ME< the taxpayer, knows more of what to do with my money than the government, so why tax me to death?
When I spend my money to buy things, that company has to replace it, so, they put people to work. People who work pay taxes, which means the government makes more money, without increasing taxes. If you want to tax big business, all they will do is pass the tax on to the consumer, yes, me and you, the ones working to pay our taxes.
At some point, big business decides its too expensive to do business in the US so, they move overseas and make a killing with cheap labor.
When you get down to it, WE and Congress, are our worst enemies.

Unlikely, more likely you'll see them either not vote or vote for a third party candidate. But many of them will vote democrat regardless. Self-loathing gays vote Republican, as do bears who enjoy rendezvous with very masculine men.

We're not attacking gays. We ARE attacking perverts who take advantage of power positions to exploit children. If the perv happens to be gay, so be it -- that ain't a free pass even from an extreme liberal.
