I've noticed at various times women whose nipples suddenly stand erect and can be seen through their clothing. What causes this ? Also, some seem to be erect all the time, why ?

Unfortunatly it is usually nothing erotic or sexy, just a natural reaction to cold or kinda like goosebumps!! Some women just have more prominent nipples and some have erect nipples more than others. They probably react the same as a mans, just ours stand out more and are noticed more :-)

It's the body's way of reacting to temperature and mood just like the pores of your skin. When its cold and scaredyou'll get goose skin. Nipples react the same way. When your cold or horn-y they stand erect!
