Your question isn't fair. The previous answerer was correct. No, they're not relevant to the contemporary music scene, but so what. Name one other groups that has lasted intact, or has made so many great contributions to music as the Stones. Name One?

They're iconic -- like a sports legend who's long since past his prime, but who in his youth set records that will last through the ages. Are you going to call him a "has been" simply because he can't do what he did 40 years ago, or will you celebrate what he accomplished, and what nobody else to this day can duplicate?

The Stones are gods, and they don't have anything to prove to anybody.

They will always be a legend along with a lot of other big stars of the 60's. It's great going to rock concerts where the majority of people are over 50. We get out to concerts several times a year and they are still selling out concerts for the likes of Simon and Garfunkel, Crosby Stills Nash and Young.

What do you mean "still"? Once you're a legend, it's permanent. Unless something Really bad happens to change that status. (eg: Micheal Jackson)

So are the Stones still legends? Yes.

The World's Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Band. My son & I saw them in Houston last December and will be going to see them next month in Las Vegas. Gotta love Mick & the boys! Legends of music!

ERMMMMM

Technically they can't be a legend until they have finished with music.

As for them being "has beens" you just need to see the crowds they draw to know that's not the case.

Still legends.....Their music is timeless. 20 years from now someone will still be singing "Ruby Tuesday, etc) and not "Sexy Back)

not too many has-beens can fill an outdoor stadium with more than 50,000 people.
they were in Barrie ontario a few years ago and more than 100,000 showed up
