Come on, why do you want to think of Thailand in this way? This is especially so if it is a holiday resort. Thailand, as a Buddist country, is more benign compared to other countries. Of course, there may be theft, robberies or even rapes. But these are things everyone faces everywhere. But a terrorist strike is unlikely.

Don't develop this stereotype you have on the Thails. Thailand is generally a safe country. Don't listen too much to negative remarks by other people.

I should know. I was sent by my company to work in Thailand for a year. I lived there as freely as I care to. I also visited kata beach, pattaya, phuket when I was on leave. They were great places and I didn't encounter any problems.

If you are afraid, don't go alone. And yes, just like what the other guy has written, watch your drinks. Don't join strangers for clubbing.

Thailand is mostly safe. No one is safe from terrorism but there isn't much in Thailand no matter what the news says.

Watch your drinks though. I would suggest you are more at risk from westerners than Thais. Stay in groups

As safe as anywhere nowadays. Just show a bit of common sense and you'll have a fantastic time - Thailand is a wonderful, friendly place with great food, fantastic weather and loads to do.

in case you like scuba, and you have the materials, i could propose flying into bangkok, and flying directly to krabi or phuket. in keeping with what airline you employ to fly on your onward holiday spot you should taxi for the period of city to the previous airport. it is your spring wreck, forget approximately bangkok, and all that crap. bypass directly to the sea coast. the two phuket and krabi have respectable places to dive (although admittedly not the superb in Thailand, yet extra suitable than respectable)... you in addition to mght have respectable seashores etc. Spring wreck is the only time i could propose those 2 islands for holiday, yet the two certainly one of them are good on your objective. Phuket is extra enhanced, extra commercial, and extra vacationers. additionally marginally extra high priced. you're able to social gathering for a evening or 2 at ko pagnan, get excitement from the sea coast, some underage eating (do it on the brink of your customer domicile), and don't do something stupid.
