It is impossible for humans to comprehend infinity in any meaningful way. We are creatures of time and space. All we are familiar with has a beginning and an end ; cause and effect. If infinity is timeless, it can not have a beginning nor an end, numbers are meaningless. It no use trying to compare infinity to a situation were the numbers are so vast that it would be impossible to count them or comprhend the number if we could. ( ie counting stars ). The numbers are still finite even if we cannot count them all or comprehend them. It is equally usless to say that infinty is every thing that ever was or ever will be. The words " ever" and "was" refer to a finite amount of time; things that existed for some period of time. With inifinty time is meaningless.

We must eventually accept that infinity is beyond our understanding. It is like a man who has been blind since birth. He has never seen shadow nor light. How could he have any understanding of the colour blue ?? How could he ever have any sense of what it looks like ?? To him "colour" and "looks" are meaning less words.

There may be, but it's impossible to count everything.

Go outside at night and look up at the stars. On a clear night, if you are out in the country, you can see a few thousand stars. Pick a constellation you're familiar with - the big dipper, say. Look at it through binoculars or a telescope, and you'll see that there are stars in that constellation that you can't see with the naked eye - they're just too faint. If you get a bigger telescope, you'll see stars between those stars, too.

Every time we get a bigger, better telescope, this always happens. When you start to think that many of these stars have planets, and all of these stars have asteroids and dust clouds around them, you start to realize that we live in a pretty big universe. How can you possibly count the number of stars? And if you subscribe to the multiple universe theory, you realize that there's an infinite amount of infinity.

to man infinite is a concept that we cannot grasp. Infinite deals with everything that there is. as humans we cannot begin to understand infinte because it is out of our mindset. we are taught that all things can be explained through mathmatical calculations. thus inserting something that has no end or begining distorts our perceptual view of the idea. chew on this, we see all things as being either here or there. but in fact everything is everywhere. this is explained in the particle acceleration theory. where as we are moving below the speed of light and view all things in that plane, there is an existence of another "life" that is above the speed of light and since it is moving faster than the source we use to judge objects they are invisible to us. being able to judge infinity comes down to the understanding of light. we have no idea what is beyond light. it is the basis of our understanding thus it limits us to thinking inside of a box. this is why infinity is uncomprehensible to humans.

Hi,
To start of I wanna say, its a good question.

First of all we know due to a series of phnomenone of planets moving away, that they are moving away from each other and thus are a part of a huge explosion, ie., the Big-Bang.

Now, consider a huge tank of sand and containing a bomb enough to blow away the whole bucket. Now , on explosion the sand is gonna up all-over the place and there is no knowledge of their size but just an estimation. The same way we estimate the strength of stars in the universe.

Peace out.

Do check out the links. They are cool.

As finite beings we won't be able to comprehend the thought of infinity. in spite of if, if instructed: "fantastic, there's a diverse end to the reaches of the Universe", our first question then is: "Oh, what lies previous it"? it is in simple terms hassle-free reasoning and good judgment. in spite of if, in accordance to contemporary scientific expertise, area is curved. in case you took off in a rocket and went in a at contemporary line, then in concept, you're able to at last land up lower back the place you began from. So area is endless interior the way that a hoop is endless. So in a fashion the universe is endless, and in a fashion it is not, and you do not ought to ask your self what's outdoors it. it is been postulated that there may be a limiteless sort of universes, and it is barely certainly one of them. think of roughly that! If that would not make your head spin, then not something will!

Infinity is a theoretical axim that asumes there is no end.

Infinite universe is also an axim but Einstien theorises that space curves in on itself and so in theory you can travel in a straight line forever and still wind up back in the same spot.

If the Universe came scientifically as a Large Bang as they say ,it means its only a small Dot in the HeavenS of the Infinite.
So we live in a small dot and in that small dot we Humans are infinitessimally small SMALL,small ,small ,small...........
