I didn't like that show, but i couldn't miss the intro scene and theme song though.. The camera would focus in on the bikes, introduce the characters, and you'd see em on that long highway stretch. That was awesome!

I used to watch a lot of tv back then.. like gilligan's island, brady bunch, highway to heaven, different strokes, family ties, and then there were the cartoons.. the last great cartoon was transformers: the movie. After that, nintendo sucked me into their world.

It wasn't a dodgy programme but I loved Hong Kong Phooey. His voice was lovely. One other programme I used to watch which would probably seem a bit lame now was Crown Court. I did like Chips though, I fancied the dark haired one.

Chips - Eric Estrada and Larry Williams
Highway to Heaven - MIchael Landon

I always liked Baretta and Kojak, two cop shows from the early and middle seventies. Also a good comedy was Barney Miller.

Oh my! Chips, now that brings back memories.

I was about 10 years old when it was on prime time, and my dad loved it, so we watched it every week. I loved how in every episode, they completely blew the heck out of a car, but if you pay attention, you will notice that the cars that get trashed are crappy old cars that were probably towed from the scrap yard to the set. We used to laugh about that.

Here's my secret confession: at about the same time as Chips, I was addicted to Love Boat and Fantasy Island. I wasn't allowed to stay up late during the week to watch the shows like Charlie's Angels (I always hated the day after, as most people in my school were allowed to stay up an extra hour for that show, but my parents were very strict, so I didn't get to--I couldn't join in the re-enactments of the previous night's episode) but Love Boat and Fantasy Island were on the weekend, so I got to see those. I thought the young girl on Love Boat would be my very best friend in the world if we just had the chance to meet, and that she would want me to come live on the ship, and be her best friend, and we would swim in the pool daily, and Isaac the bartender would make us wonderful fruity drinks, and we'd sit at the captain's table every night...

I also was quite certain that if I could just get to Fantasy Island, I could make myself useful enough that they would hire me on. They'd get a tutor for me so I didn't have to go to regular school, and I would have all sorts of great ideas about how to make people's dreams come true.

Wow, looking back I had absolutely no taste in TV when I was a kid :)

Remember it - loved Ponch. Highway to Heaven was just okay. Used to watch Starsky and Hutch, and Knight Rider.

I remember those programs.

I too liked Knight Rider.

I really didn't watch a lot of TV that much back then though so I didn't watch many of the good shows out. I spent more time fixing things and workings outside.

Yes I remember this one. John & Ponch and the exploding californian cars. Every time there was even the slightest bump between cars there was a HUGE explosion. LOL It was rubbish!! But, of course, as a kid, I loved it.

Another rubbish show I watched was "Man From Atlantis" Patrick Duffy before he was Bobby in Dallas. Pure BS it was and , again, I loved it.
