If you decide to use symbols, what better than the gay male symbol possibly on the side of the face (therefore keeping with the tradition of halloween) OR carve rainbows in 2 separate pumpkins and also have the gay symbols on there and place them beside your original halloween pumpkin so that people will notice but it will not detract from halloween theme...

How about mini rainbows for eyes- carve 3 parallel arched lines then make cellophane rainbow in different colors cut to match the rainbow shape and attach on the inside with pins and throw some glitter on the whole thing.

My suggestion would be to carve it anyway you want and then paint it in the designated rainbow colors that represent your sexuality.. Most people know what it symbolizes..

create some long fancy eyelashes for it. so pretty. on girly girls and girly boys.
don't want to be stereotyping your gay jack-o-lantern, but i think eyelashes are something you never go wrong with.
