Where can I get a free domain name ?

Question

I don't need a sub domain like www.yourname.8a.com but any domain name will do like www.yourname.cn or www.yourname.mn etc. Please guys tell !!!

I don't think you can get a free domain name unless you know someone who wants to give his away. All domain names require a registration fee, but it's not too expensive, anywhere from 5 to 20 bucks, depending on the host providing the registration service. Many web hosts offer registration for free if you purchase their hosting services, but then you have to pay their monthly fee to host your web site.

An alternative is to use a redirecting service. These will allow you to create an alternate address and simulate a shorter domain name by redirecting traffic to your subdomain. There are many free redirecting services, but oftentimes they insert advertising with the service.

Well u cant get a direct domain (www.urname.com) for free.
but www.homestead.com and www.zoomshare.com
offers u a direct free domain as a trail for 30 days.
u can get a subdomain with only 2 letters at
www.freeservers.com
