go to my computer right click on the icon - properties - "tab" general.
but if you don't know what let me tell you, 256MB ram is standard for internet and application. 512MB ram is high-Standard for games playing today! the advance is 1GB or 2GB Ram is for Half-life 2 : episod one or two or "SOURCE ENGINE" games.
prossssser:: 2.4Ghz is a good standard - more then that is hot very quickly need more attention exspecially Pentium Series.
For gamerz use AMD 64Bit processor. 1Over GHz is quite good.
3over Ghz is DA best.
graphic card: Use ati redeon if you want high-standard performance games .. if not well, intergrated graphic works!.
Or you want the power full graphic card Use nvidia Sli graphic - the famous graphic card series < advance games.
to check your graphic card goes to : my computer - hardware - display property . good luck

If you can go on line with the potential computer and I recommend it for every ones computer, down load and install "Everest Free Home Edition" to your PC, then when you click on it it will tell you EVERYTHING about the PC. IE: CPU,who made it and when, mghtz.,programs installed how many slots and what kind and if they are occupied and by what, motherboard make and number, ram, hardware(all of it!) and etc. this will help later if you ever need repairs or to upgrade because you print out a report and take it to the shop/store and someone can tell you what you can upgrade to and etc. without them being there or you having to take it in.(did I mention that it performs benchmark test as well and compares it to other ones like yours so you can see if something is amiss)!

Sometimes you can tell by the look of how many pins are on the CPU chip (but not an exact number of mhz)
If you want to figure out the exact specs, you must have the computer running and you can use an application such as "everest" or "aida32" to check all of the specs.
Or you can simply check using windows.
