My friend and I like dining out. Usually I let him pay because he earns more. Will he get tired of this? Should I insist that I pay every second or third time?

Do you buy dinner for your poorer friends all the time?

Just because your friend earns more money doesn't mean he should spend it on you.
You should either split the bill every time or you should buy dinner every other time.

A man should pay for dining out ONLY when you're dating. Either split each bill or pay every other time if you just want to be friends. Even if you are clear that you only want to be friends, allowing him to pay sends a mixed signal to a guy. If you have no intention of dating him and he has an interest in you (even if you're just friends now) allowing him to pay could cause some seriously hurt feelings.

Yes, typically if you are just friends, you need to buy every other time, or just pay for your own meal and drinks.

However, if he really enjoys your company, and realizes you make less than he does, when it is your time to pay, you could let him know a couple days BEFORE you go out that you can't go out to dinner because you don't have money to pay for the meal.

He will either say: "Okay", or will say: "NO! I am paying...don't worry about it".

When you do have enough money, treat him to a meal at a nicer restaurant than usual.

If you and your friend like dining out, then it is fair that you pay your share unless he insisted on not letting you pay.

Did he avoid going out with you? If not, the chances are he does not mind. However, you should try paying occassionally so that he knows you are not getting him for a ride.

you could always offer to pay, see what his reaction is he might get tired and he could feel like hes been taken for granted if this happens you might run the risk of spoiling a good friendship

At least make the offer. You don't want him to feel like he is being taken advantage of or he may get a little resentful.

If you aren't dating, then you should pay every other time. It's only fair (regardless of how much he makes). When it's your turn to pay, just choose a less expensive restaurant.

Offer to pay the next time. Or if he declines, offer to pay your share of the bill.

You should both pay.
How much? Let me tell you how much.

example: your friend earn 500 units of money. (I don't know how much one unit is.) You earn 100 units of money. :)
you pay once for every five time he pays.
