Who really is Frankie Wilde, the DJ who became deaf and after an amazing comeback, he has just gone…Based on a true story in an excellent tribute film to him, It's All Gone by Pete Tong.
Does anyone know who this legend is? =)

Frankie Wilde is the fictional protagonist of the 2004 mockumentary It's All Gone Pete Tong. Frankie, played by Paul Kaye, is a famous DJ living in Ibiza, whose biological predilection, job, and lifestyle of drugs and alcohol lead to his becoming deaf.

He doesn't really exist and it's not based on a real person. It was a spoof.

Nope! I'd be pretty OK with it actually, I wouldn't mind-mostly because I already know ASL and am around the Deaf community. It would make it more difficult for me to be an interpreter though, but I'm sure my skills could still be used in the Deaf community somewhere Also just to add, sometimes I wish I was Deaf, is that bad or maybe it just sounds crazy? I feel connected with Deaf people, I feel like ASL could be my language, like it's inside me already-rooted somehow. I'm sure if I became deaf though, right now-it would be a shock and would take time to adjust, I'm sure I would go through a time of sadness, because, after all, I am hearing and have been hearing for over 27 years now. But being exposed to Deaf people and their language and culture for over 6 years now has totally expanded my world, I've enjoyed it, cherished it and cannot see my world without Deaf people and sign language...that is, until the new world, when Deaf people will be able to hear..but I'm hoping we will still have some form of sign language, it's a beautiful meaningful languages-like so many others and I hope we will still use it in some form. Sorry for the rambling. \O/\m/_
