I am a chemistry student. I find that the problem of energy is assuming serious proportions day by day. Despite all the shortcomings fuel oils are the only reliable and convenient source of energy whether for transportation or running machinery. However, the underground stocks are depleting rapidly with ever rising levels of consumption. I had read in the Readers'Digest around 30s an article describing an experiment of producing fueld oils from river as also sea water during the 20s. The experiment was conducted under the strict supervision of the Pentagon. The inventor was thorouhly frisked and was found carrying two packets of powder. He was left alone in a room which was under close watch. He has asked only for one bucketful of ordinary wat er and one of sea water. After he gave the green signal the Defence personnel took the mixtures and put them in motor engines. They found both the mixtures quite efficient.. Pentagon officials asked the inventor to call back after a few days. They checked and rechecked the mixtures and their findings confirmed that the claims of the inventor were not farfetched. In those days the supply position of fueld oils was not so acute and it was also quite cheap. However, there was no guarantee that the same position would remain in future. When they called at the inventor's place he was missing and in fact it seemed he had been kidnapped, his room looted. Subsequent investigations did not prove successful and the question remained an enigma. It was suspected that he might have been done away with oil interests who feared a crash in oil prices but it was never confirmed and there were dark suggestions that the investigations were deliberately suppressed. A magazine like RD would never write a story on just hearsay evidence and there must be some truth.Subsequently there has been similar claims, even in India which were, however, not found genuine. The last such attempt was from a chemist in Chennai.

I firmly believe that if Tom had did it once Harry can do it again.Looking to the basic hydrogen content of water as also fuel oils also indicates some reasonable possibility of duplicating the feat.Should this experiment be successful it would bring such a trememdous to world and also liberate the Middle East from the machinations of the Western powers. I would, therefore, like to concentrate on these experiments which would be a fitting tribute to the unnamed inventor who died unsung and unseen.
