Since chlorophyll is what makes leaves green and chlorophyll is produced by photosynthesis, and photosynthesis is caused by sunlight, I would say plants in sunlight would have darker leaves. Besides plants kept in total darkness for very long would be dead. In which case, the leaves would be brown.

Dark green color can be only detected in Sunlight.If you think in the dark - ie Night or artificial darkness?
