I landed at Montego Bay in 2005 and we had a minibus transfer to Ocho Rios. I seem to remember the journey took us about 3 hours - Dunn's River Falls was about 10 minutes before Ocho Rios.

They are in the process of building a new road between those points but when i went the good part was only about half the distance. Things should have improved since then so the journey time may be less.

Although Dunn's River Falls are fairly commercialised it is well worth the trip.

Have a great holiday and........Irie!

When I was down there for my wedding, it took us almost 3 hours to get to the west side of Ocho Rios. Since Dunn's River is on the east side, I would guess that you are looking at a minimum of 2 hours at least. You know its a long drive when the hotel contracted charter bus stops for a bathroom break.

Ok, the road to Ocho Rios is in a fairly good condition. Therefore, it should take you no more than 2 hours.

It takes about 2 hours. They are finishing up the new highway form MoBay to Ochi, so the time has gotten better. The roads in Ja are very poor. They are filled woth potholes and they are very narrow with big drops. If this is your first trip to Jamaica, please hire a driver.
The drive is worth going to Dunn's River. Don't take a bus like everyone else. Hire a driver so you can stop wherever you want.

believe me, you quite favor to do the expedition through the cruiseline. that's no longer close adequate to stroll to from the deliver, that's some miles away. I went on a excursion when I did it so i visit't allow you to understand precisely how some distance that's. Our excursion we took develop into large, we did a botanical backyard excursion (which i did not imagine i'd truly like yet develop into large), a museum excursion (which develop into in elementary words a a million room progression), and a touch paying for alongside with the Falls. The locals get a touch aggressive so some distance as even as our bus might want to quit, they could run as a lot because the homestead windows and attempt to get you to purchase issues from them and did not favor to take heed to you say no. We had a good excursion guidance guide who dealt with all of them suitable even with the actuality that. you'll love the falls, its desirable. Take a water-resistant digital camera with you, you'll have some outstanding photos...

About 3 hours depending on the weather and traffic. The roads in Jamacia are very, very bad. Some of the biggest potholes in the world exist there.

Try Club Margurita located downtown Montego Bay, try a jamacian beef patti to while your there.

Eat all the jerk chicken you can possibly stand and make you sure to have a couple of Miami Vice drinks as well.

Stay away from the weed.................................WOW!!

hope you enjoy your time there, but i am sure you will. IRIE.

I made that trip two years ago. The roads are very poor, although the road was under construction for improvement. Nonetheless, it's not like a US freeway, so plan on 2 hours.
