Remember the homecoming dance is not the Prom still you want to be appropriately looking good.
Yes wear a dress, get the "dress code" list from the organizers and it will also tell what types of dancing is not allowed. Talk with upperclassgirls that have attended before, also see if there's a theme for the event.

Before the dance, shop for a dress, handbag, shoes and accessories; then get your hair done.

A few tips:

good idea to have a color from your dress match his tie
If your date is tall then wear some comfy heels
get your tickets well ahead of time
bring your cellphone
tampon/pad if necessary (with midol or advil etc)
bring your school ID
bring a camera to take pics
dress should fall somewhere around the knees
bring some money
breath mints
do nails the day before or the same day
arrange transportation (save the limo for the prom)
have a nice place to go after the dance (resturant etc)
make-up for touchups
Thin shawl etc to keep warm.

Home Comings vary from high school to high school.. some you can get away with just regular school threads. But I would suggest to you to think of it as a prom. Get a dress and such... it is better to be over dressed than show up in nike's and everyone else has evening wear on.

do not worry approximately getting a guy. it is over rated. lol The dress, do not choose for a prom dress yet choose for something staggering. maybe knee length!! If a guy likes you, you would understand and you hair, save it hassle-free and down! :D in an prolonged time interior the evening, positioned it up. do not rigidity over it. have confidence me!

This year the color for dresses is BLACK...anything in BLACK ....knee length!! Dresses should be simple and dressy.....NOT PROM dressy but just classy ......NO school duds either.....dress shoes to match and accessories that will flatter not take away from the dress!
