No music downloader is safe. You must have your anti-virus always ready. Make sure that it is up to date.

Carefully download just one at a time. Scan the download immediately. Never leave your computer connected to a download site and walk away. Watch it for the whole download. Disconnect the download site as soon as you are done. Watch out for downloads that start by themselves.

I have been using LimeWire pro now for 2 years and on one ocassion I ended up with a type of spyware that I removed. You don't get viruses from the computer or the P2P network you attach yourself to. When I download my music I down it to a folder that is always being scanned for spyware, adware, and viruses by my Fix It Utilities 6. Running it this way has kept me from getting any type of virus or other infection. Even in those 2 years my virus scanner has only picked up on that one instance of spyware. So good luck on your choice. LimeWire does have a free version if you want to try it out and a Pro version that cost $19.00 a year.

It's not the program that gives you viruses, it's the people who send the music file to you that attach a virus along with the music....not worth the hassle.

You can't trust any P2P network user to not send you a dodgy file. If you want reliable service, pay for it!
