I think people in here are answering your question wrong. your question was put in "other-us history" not science. so dealing with history im pact as a critical result of a specific event. for example the impact of the colonist arriving on the island of san salvador was the outbreak of diseases. but if you were still mentioning science then impact is the ultimate result of a collison between two or more molecules this may release energy or produce other products as a result. for example a proton accelerator when impacted hugley can result in the fusion and making of helium atoms. i hope i was able to help. good luck!
