Ok i am an indian and waxing is done extensively here. I have done it at home myself and get it done at the salon when i don't have time. A thing called waxing strip is available or cellophane strips(it looks like regular cellophane sheet cut into rectangular strips) and then there is cloth (which i have used at home wahen i run out of waxing strips)
Cut a cloth (soft cotton, the kind u use in night gowns or u can say in hankies) DO NOT USE T-SHIRT MATERIAL.
cut them into rectangular strips of size 4inch*8inch. Next heat the wax till it boils, then let it cool till u can COMFORTABLY tolerate it (DO NOT BURN URSELF let it cool for say 10 minutes and then take some on a spoon and let it cool for half a minute then touch it slightly : all this will give u an idea of how hot the wax really is). Now take butter knife and apply a thin layer on the area in the direction of the hair growth, now put the strip on the area (length wise) and with ur hand go over the strip 3-4 times so that it sticks to ur body area then pull in opposite direction. u should see removed hair. It is best if u let somebody else apply the strip and remove it. Or get it done at a salon and then try to copy. Waxing should not be done by urself in underarms and bikini area.
E.g. ur waxing ur calf then apply the wax from knee towards ur feet and then pull the strip in opposite direction that is from feet to knee.
Please ensure that the wax u have made is ok as incorrect made wax will not remove hair but just give pain. Waxing when done correctly does'nt pain much, so if doing it at home then try to get commercially made wax.
If u find the answer informative plz make it ur best

First, a special preconditioning lotion for waxing (regular lotions and creams make the wax slip from the hair) is applied. Then hot wax is poured onto the skin and covered with strips of cloth; once the wax hardens around each strand of hair, the cloth is quickly pulled off. Your skin should be pulled taut in the opposite direction that the strip will be removed.

The best antidote to the pain of waxing is to try to relax. . Immediately after waxing, apply gentle pressure to the area with your hands; icing the area also can help ease the pain. The more often you get a wax treatment, the more accustomed you'll grow to the experience.
