Yes, this is adware or spyware. You have to clean this up.

You should have an anti-spyware solution on your computer. I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.

Run both of these immediately after you see a popup ad. Get the Updates, then run the scan. It should only take about 10 minutes.

First of all you should be running some kind of anti-virus program. Secondly when you check your email the ones you don't want go through them and list them as junk or block the sender. You can find some anti virus software free from you IP. They usually have one that you can download for free. Once you delete or block selected messages make sure you empty or deleted folder. Then run a scan

Read some of the other posts here. You'll find plenty of people complaining about viruses. All those people have one thing in common:
They're using Windows!
If you don't want to viruses, you can't use a virus platform. Get a Mac!

Look at all the other answers to your question. Seem complicated and difficult? None are necessary with a Mac!

It's not really a computer problem,, software,, you have spyware and adware on you system. Norton Internet Security should take care and delete it if you have it installed and running with adware and spyware block.. There are other programs that will detect and delete the adware and spyware.. Rick

Hi,

They are probably adware/spyware.

Do you have these two software installed?
1) Unti virus software
2) Unti adware/spyware installed.

For 1 I use McAffee, and for 2 I use No Adware http://www.deletespyware-adware.com

It's worth getting an expert to check your computer out at:

http://www.webuser.co.uk/forums/ubbthreads.php/Cat/0

Register, go to the Hijack This Forum, read the instructions on how to post a log, give a brief description of your problem (like you've just typed) and post your log there. The guys in there are fantastic and trustworthy and will guide you through in getting rid of anything nasty from your computer. Good luck!

Like everyone else said.
Sounds like ad/spyware infection form hell.

Word of advice and nothing personal to anyone who answered...do not download links people place in anonymous forums. You could end up with worse than some annoying popups.

you have to have some kind of antivirus program or itll get out of hand. If youve got yahoo toolbar youve got norton antispy..run that and get rid of everything it shows. some isps have free antivirus...Comcast uses Macafee and ive had good success with it. Gotta have a firewall too. Frequently use system tools to empty files and cookies.
